The Sunrise Gas Department is responsible for assuring a continuous supply of clean, safe energy to nearly 10,000 residential and commercial customers.
The Department's key functions include:
Natural Gas Distribution - providing a reliable delivery system in compliance with the rules of regulatory agencies.
Gas Administration Building
Customer Service - opening and closing accounts, as well as installing and repairing customers' equipment and appliances.
Warehousing - maintaining parts and materials necessary to provide consistent levels of service.
Propane/Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Sales - dispensing propane and CNG for use in grills, campers and industrial applications.
The Department maintains a network of over 170 miles of underground pipe. Sunrise also operates a Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) Program that powers a fleet of approximately 150 - including police cruisers, Post Office trucks and Broward County school buses - with clean-burning natural gas.
